What is a cookie

A cookie is a small file sent with the pages of a website and stored by your browser on your computer, phone or tablet. Browser storage works in a similar way, but the file stays on your device and is not sent back to us with every request.

Cookies are usually grouped into three kinds. Functional cookies make a website work. Analytical cookies count how a site is used. Tracking cookies follow you between sites to build a profile.

What we use

This website sets no cookies at all. The only thing it keeps in your browser is your choice of light or dark display, and that stays on your device.

The Cockpit Agents application, which you reach when you sign in, uses first-party functional cookies. It uses no analytical cookies and no tracking cookies. Because everything it sets is needed for the service you asked for, we do not ask you for cookie consent, and there is no cookie banner to dismiss.

The cookies we set

These are set by the Cockpit Agents application when you sign in. None of them is shared with anyone else.

• Staying signed in. Up to 7 days.
• Loading pages quickly. A short-lived cache of your session, up to 60 seconds.
• Completing a sign-in that starts at another provider. Up to 5 minutes.
• Remembering that you chose not to stay signed in. For the browser session.
• Protecting your requests against forgery. Up to 24 hours.

All of them are restricted to Cockpit Agents, sent only over a secure connection, and not readable by scripts.

Browser storage we use

Browser storage stays on your device. We do not read it from our servers. The first item below is set by this website. The rest are set by the application.

• Display mode. Remembers whether you chose the light or dark display. It stays until you clear it.
• Recent searches. Your recent search terms stay on your device so you can return to them, until you clear them.
• Interface preferences. Remember choices such as which tabs you last had open. They stay until you clear them.
• Temporary feature state. Kept in session storage and discarded when you close the browser.

What we do not use

This website contains no third-party content such as widgets, plug-ins, embedded media or advertising pixels. Neither the website nor the application runs Google Analytics or any other analytics product to observe you, and nothing we store is shared with advertising networks or used to build a behavioural profile.

Clearing or blocking it

You can clear or block cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. Everything we set is functional, so blocking it will sign you out, reset your preferences, or stop parts of the application working.
